Visa and DealMe Partner to Offer Cross-Border Card Installment Payments

Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has partnered with DealMe, a fintech company, to address the growing demand for cross-border shopping and flexible payment options. This innovative collaboration will soon launch cross-border card installment payment services, enhancing payment flexibility for both Vietnamese and international consumers. Vietnamese Visa credit cardholders will soon be able to access real-time installment offers at top merchants in South Korea, significantly improving repayment convenience during their travels. This initiative is timely, given that Visa’s data reveals that 75% of surveyed Vietnamese consumers plan to travel for leisure next year, with South Korea being the top destination. Vietnamese travelers can use their Visa credit cards in South Korea to shop at various locations, including duty-free shops, department stores, and medical institutions, making their trips more enjoyable and financially manageable.

Innovative Services for Vietnamese and International Consumers

The collaboration will enable Visa and DealMe to introduce card installment payments for foreign customers at participating merchants, a service previously unavailable. International consumers using Visa cards at these merchants can conveniently check their eligibility for the cross-border installment service and select their preferred installment duration. DealMe plans to leverage Visa’s extensive global network, following a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Visa’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in November 2024. The service will pilot in South Korea, with plans for expansion to Vietnam, the United States, Australia, Japan, and Singapore. This initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing the payment experience for travelers, enabling them to shop with greater ease and financial flexibility. The ease of installment payments abroad underscores DealMe’s commitment to making international travel more convenient and affordable for consumers.

Enhancing Cross-Border Payment Experience Through Collaboration

Visa’s dedication to improving cross-border payments in Vietnam is further strengthened through their collaboration with DealMe, benefiting both incoming and outgoing travelers. This endeavor ties in seamlessly with Vietnam’s rebounding tourism industry and its digital transformation ambitions. By joining forces with Visa, DealMe has launched a new payment solution for those journeying abroad, ensuring both convenience and adaptability. This partnership aims to offer Vietnamese travelers more payment options while reflecting a larger goal of easing the financial side of international trips for everyone. This union between Visa and DealMe marks a major advancement in leveraging Visa’s extensive network alongside DealMe’s innovative offerings to enhance the shopping experience for both Vietnamese and global consumers. Consequently, travelers can anticipate improved payment solutions that make cross-border shopping more straightforward and convenient, significantly contributing to a smooth, enjoyable travel experience.
