Sanwa Launches Rotating USB-C Cable and Quick-Release Ethernet Cable

Sanwa Supply has unveiled an innovative charging solution with its new 500-USB090 USB-C cable, which boasts a rotating plug design aimed at enhancing user convenience while charging portable devices. A versatile, flexible cord, the cable’s ends can rotate 180 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally, providing users with the ability to adjust the cord’s orientation to their needs. Unlike traditional USB cables, it eliminates the common frustration of awkwardly aligned cables that can obstruct your workspace or damage connectors over time.

While the 500-USB090 stands out for its extreme flexibility, it does come with certain limitations, notably in data transfer speeds. The cable supports only USB 2.0 data transfer rates of up to 480Mbps. This is significantly slower compared to modern USB 3.2 standards, which offer data transfer speeds multiple times faster. However, for users primarily concerned with charging functionality rather than high-speed data transfer, this might be a minor drawback.

High Power Delivery Capability

One of the key features that set the 500-USB090 apart is its impressive 240W power delivery capability. This makes it particularly suitable for charging high-power devices such as smartphones, tablets, Nintendo Switch consoles, portable monitors, and even MacBooks. The 240W support aligns with the emerging USB4 2.0 and Thunderbolt 5 standards, though such capabilities remain rare in current market products. This high-power delivery can provide quicker charging times and support heavier usage without compromising performance.

Despite its advanced features, the availability of this innovative cable remains limited. Currently available in Japan for ¥2,580 (around $16), it is yet to be announced if or when Sanwa Supply plans to make this product available globally. This positions the 500-USB090 as a promising yet exclusive product that might see wider adoption as newer USB standards become more prevalent in devices and accessories worldwide.

Quick-Release Ethernet Cable

Sanwa Supply has added a new innovation to its lineup with the introduction of a quick-release Ethernet cable inspired by Apple’s MagSafe technology. This revolutionary CAT6 cable has a detachable plug designed to avoid damage from accidental pulls, a frequent issue with conventional Ethernet cables. Thanks to its quick-release mechanism, the plug detaches easily when tugged, protecting the connection and the port from harm.

Supporting speeds of up to 10Gbps, this Ethernet cable offers a blend of high performance, durability, and user convenience. It starts at ¥4,180 ($27) for the one-meter version, indicating its advanced design and top-quality construction. This product launch exemplifies Sanwa’s dedication to creating practical and progressive solutions for everyday tech problems.

Sanwa’s latest products emphasize enhancing user experience by focusing on flexibility and device protection. By aligning their products with the latest USB and Ethernet standards, Sanwa addresses current user needs while anticipating future technological developments. As the market shifts towards these new standards, Sanwa’s innovative solutions not only tackle immediate issues but also set a high industry benchmark, ensuring they meet both present and future demands.
