Pulsant to invest £4.5 million in expanding Manchester data center

Pulsant, a leading UK data center provider, has unveiled plans to expand its Manchester data center with a substantial investment of £4.5 million. The expansion project aims to meet the growing demand for regional data center access and colocation services, bolstering Pulsant’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient solutions for its customers.

Additional Data Hall to Boost IT Capacity

As part of the expansion, Pulsant will construct an additional data hall in the Manchester facility. This new data hall will deliver an impressive 300 kW of IT capacity to support the increasing needs of businesses and organizations in the region. With the fourth data hall set to go live in December 2023, Pulsant will significantly enhance its ability to accommodate the evolving requirements of its clients.

Upgrades to Connectivity and Cooling

In addition to the construction of the new data hall, Pulsant’s expansion plans include crucial upgrades to enhance connectivity and cooling systems. By investing in these improvements, Pulsant aims to optimize the data center’s performance and ensure the seamless operation of critical infrastructure. The upgraded connectivity will enable faster and more reliable data transfers, while enhanced cooling systems will contribute to efficient and sustainable operations.

Current Capacity and Acquisition History

Currently, Pulsant’s Manchester data center offers a total capacity of 1.1MW across three data halls, effectively meeting the needs of various businesses and industries. It is important to note that Pulsant acquired the Manchester data center from M247 last year, thereby solidifying its position in the region and expanding its customer base.

Expansion Details

The expansion project will result in the creation of an additional 320 sqm (3,440 sq ft) of space. This increased capacity will accommodate the growing demand for data center services, particularly from companies seeking colocation options and reliable infrastructure support. Pulsant aims to cater to businesses of all sizes, providing flexible and scalable solutions to suit their specific requirements.

Pulsant’s Network of Data Centers

The Manchester data center expansion is part of Pulsant’s broader network of facilities across the United Kingdom. With a total of 12 data centers strategically located throughout the country, Pulsant offers widespread coverage and seamless connectivity for businesses nationwide. This extensive network allows customers to choose the most suitable location for their needs, ensuring high availability and low latency.

Expansion in Rotherham

Just last month, Pulsant announced the expansion of its data center located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This further demonstrates the company’s dedication to growing its infrastructure and providing unparalleled services to customers across the UK. The expansion in Rotherham, coupled with the investment in the Manchester data center, solidifies Pulsant’s position as a leading data center provider committed to meeting the evolving demands of businesses in the digital age.

Pulsant’s commitment to investing £4.5 million in expanding its Manchester data center underscores its dedication to providing top-notch infrastructure and services to its customers. By constructing an additional data hall, upgrading connectivity and cooling systems, and creating more space, Pulsant aims to cater to the increasing demand for regional data center access and colocation services.
