Nokia and Bharti Airtel Partner to Expand 4G and 5G Network in India

Nokia has entered into a multi-year agreement with Bharti Airtel to deploy 4G and 5G equipment in key regions of India. This significant deal, valued in the billions, aims to expand Airtel’s network infrastructure and enhance its capabilities. Nokia will deliver equipment from its 5G AirScale portfolio, including base stations, baseband units, and Massive MIMO radios, all powered by ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This advanced technology will boost Airtel’s network capacity and efficiency, facilitating a smooth transition to 5G technology.

As part of the agreement, Nokia will also upgrade Airtel’s 4G network with advanced multiband radios and 5G-ready baseband units to ensure future scalability. Nokia’s AI-driven MantaRay Network Management system will be integrated into Airtel’s network for efficient monitoring, deployment, and optimization. This integration will enable Airtel to manage its network more effectively and enhance the overall user experience.
