Honor has launched a cheaper, non-pro tablet called Honor Pad V8

Honor, a popular Chinese smartphone and tablet manufacturer, has unveiled a new tablet called the Honor Pad V8. The Honor Pad V8 is a smaller and cheaper version of the previously released Honor Pad V8 Pro. Unlike the Pro version, the non-Pro model is equipped with an 11” display and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 chipset. The device is now available for pre-order in China and comes with MagicUI 6.1, which is based on Android 12.

Smaller and cheaper than the pro version

The Honor Pad V8 is smaller than the Pro version with an 11” LCD display instead of a 12.6” AMOLED display. The tablet has a screen resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, a pixel density of 189 PPI, and it comes with an 85% screen-to-body ratio. The device has a slim metal unibody design, measuring 7.3mm in thickness and weighing 485g.

It features the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset

The Honor Pad V8 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 chipset, which is the first device to utilize this latest technology from MediaTek. This is a significant upgrade from the previous Kirin 985 chipset used in the Pro version. The device also comes equipped with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

MagicUI 6.1 is based on Android 12

The Honor Pad V8 comes with MagicUI 3.1, which is based on Android 10. This operating system provides users with a smooth experience and a host of features. MagicUI 3.1 also has added privacy features which users can customize to their preference. There is no news yet on whether the Honor Pad V8 will receive any updates to the operating system.

Quad speakers equipped with DTS:X Ultra support

The Honor Pad V8 boasts quad speakers that provide an immersive audio experience. The speakers on this device are equipped with DTS:X Ultra support, which enhances the audio quality of movies, music, and games. This feature is not typically found on tablets in this price range.

Optional accessories available

The Honor Pad V8 can be paired with two optional accessories: the Magic Pencil 3 stylus and the Magic Keyboard. The Magic Pencil 3 stylus is designed for drawing or note-taking, while the Magic Keyboard is suited for people who need a keyboard for typing on their tablet.

Availability

The Honor Pad V8 is now available for pre-order in China, but there is no information yet on whether it will be available globally. The company has not announced a release date or the official price of the tablet outside of China.

The Honor Pad V8 is a budget-friendly tablet that offers a great option for people who are looking for a more affordable device than the Pro version. It features high-quality build and a powerful chipset, running on an operating system based on Android 12. The tablet comes with quad speakers, providing enhanced audio experience, and offers two optional accessories. It is unclear whether the Honor Pad V8 will be available outside of China, but it is definitely a device worth keeping an eye on.
