Acer Unveils Predator Helios Neo AI Laptops with RTX 5070 GPUs

Acer’s latest announcement has set the tech world abuzz with the unveiling of new models in its Predator Helios Neo AI gaming laptop series. These powerful devices, which feature the advanced RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti GPUs, are set to start at an initial price of $1,900. These laptops, known as the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and Predator Helios Neo 18 AI, merge mid-range Blackwell mobile GPUs with Intel’s Arrow Lake-HX CPUs, promising to deliver exceptional gaming performance. The processor options available include the Core Ultra 7 255HX and the Core Ultra 9 275HX.

The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI offers gamers a range of display options to suit their needs. There are four display configurations: a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and OLED technology operating at 240Hz, a standard panel with the same resolution and either 240Hz or 180Hz, and a 1920 x 1200 screen running at 180Hz. The OLED model is particularly notable for its rapid 1ms response time, while the other configurations feature a still respectable 3ms response time.

Cutting-edge Features and Specifications

The Predator Helios Neo 18 AI stands out with its 18-inch display featuring a 2560 x 1600 Mini LED option at 250Hz. Also available are LED variants at 240Hz or 165Hz and a 1920 x 1200 LED option at 165Hz, all with a 3ms response time. These laptops can handle heavy tasks with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, clocked at 6,400 MHz, and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage across two SSD slots, ensuring ample speed and storage.

Equipped with a long-lasting 90Wh battery, these high-performance laptops offer extended use without frequent recharging. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, full HD IR cameras for clear video, and four-zone keyboard lighting for a better gaming experience. Ports include one Thunderbolt 4, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, three USB-A ports, one HDMI 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack, a microSD slot, and an ethernet port.

The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI will be available in April in the US, starting at $1,900, and in the EMEA region in May, priced at €1,699. The Predator Helios Neo 18 AI will launch in the US in May, starting at $2,200, and in EMEA in June, priced at €1,799.
