Revolut, the global financial app boasting a customer base of over 50 million, has taken a significant step to support Ukrainian residents by broadening its array of services and spearheading a new charity campaign. This initiative primarily focuses on providing Ukrainian residents with access to European Revolut accounts, which come equipped with innovative financial products like instant, fee-free peer-to-peer transfers and foreign exchange services in over 30 currencies. The expansion is aimed at facilitating seamless, cost-free transfers between Revolut users, thereby simplifying international money transactions for Ukrainian residents and their families.

One of the most notable aspects of this new initiative is the introduction of a special edition Clear Sky VISA debit card, symbolizing hope for Ukraine. To obtain the card, customers in the UK and EEA are required to make a minimum donation of €/£5, with Revolut matching donations up to £200,000. On the other hand, Ukrainian residents can acquire the card without any need for a donation. All collected donations will be directed to UK for UNHCR, supporting displaced Ukrainians by providing emergency assistance and repairing shelters.

Strengthening Financial Inclusion for Ukrainians

Revolut’s expansion efforts include a critical partnership with Diia, Ukraine’s e-government platform, ensuring a secure and streamlined onboarding process for Ukrainian users. By collaborating with Diia, Revolut aims to enhance financial inclusion for Ukrainians, providing them with easy access to digital banking services. This support is crucial, particularly given the current crisis in Ukraine. Over 700,000 Ukrainians in the UK and EEA are already utilizing Revolut’s services, and a significant volume of funds, estimated to be over €1bn, has been transferred to Ukraine since 2022. These transfers come primarily from Germany, the UK, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands, underscoring the importance of the expanded services.

Revolut’s commitment to Ukrainian residents is not new. The company has previously demonstrated its dedication by raising over £10m for the Red Cross Ukraine appeal, which included a generous £1.5m corporate donation. By introducing European bank accounts and enabling free, instant money transfers, Revolut aims to significantly benefit Ukrainian residents and their families, ensuring they have the financial tools necessary to navigate these turbulent times.

Charity Campaign for Meaningful Support

The introduction of the special edition Clear Sky VISA debit card is an integral aspect of Revolut’s charity campaign. The card’s transparent blue design, inspired by the Ukrainian flag, serves as a symbol of hope and solidarity with Ukraine. Customers in the UK and EEA who wish to obtain the card must donate a minimum of €/£5, with Revolut matching every donation up to £200,000, thereby amplifying the impact of the campaign. Ukrainian residents, however, can receive the card without making a donation. All funds collected through this campaign will go to UK for UNHCR, helping provide emergency assistance and repair shelters for displaced Ukrainians.

The collaboration with Diia ensures a secure and efficient onboarding process for Ukrainian users, making it easier for them to access Revolut’s digital banking services. This partnership is essential in facilitating financial inclusion, enabling Ukrainians to seamlessly integrate into the digital financial ecosystem. The campaign’s success is evident in the growing number of Ukrainians in the UK and EEA who are already using Revolut, as well as the substantial sums transferred to Ukraine. Revolut’s previous fundraising efforts for the Red Cross Ukraine appeal further demonstrate the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting Ukrainian communities.

Aiding Ukrainians During Challenging Times

Revolut, a leading global financial app with over 50 million users, has expanded its services to support Ukrainian residents and launched a new charity campaign. This move allows Ukrainians to access European Revolut accounts with advanced financial features, including instant, fee-free peer-to-peer transfers and foreign exchange services in more than 30 currencies. The goal is to enable smooth, cost-free transfers between Revolut users, making international money transactions easier for Ukrainian residents and their families.

A standout feature of this initiative is the special edition Clear Sky VISA debit card, symbolizing hope for Ukraine. Designed by Revolut’s Ukrainian team, the transparent blue card resembles the Ukrainian flag. Customers in the UK, the EEA, and Ukraine can get this card, with those in the UK and EEA required to donate at least €/£5 to obtain it. Revolut will match donations up to £200,000. Ukrainian residents can acquire the card without a donation. All funds raised through donations go to UK for UNHCR, aiding displaced Ukrainians with emergency assistance and shelter repairs.
